Nigeria’s advertising industry is preparing for another defining moment as the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) convenes its 53rd Annual General Meeting (AGM).
So, with this, stakeholders are expected to examine how agencies can reinvent themselves for a marketplace increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, digital transformation, changing consumer expectations, and new business realities.
Scheduled for July 23 and 24 at Providence Hotel, Lagos, this year’s gathering carries the theme, “ADvolution: The End of Advertising as We Know It and How to Win What Comes Next,” a bold declaration that signals the industry’s determination to redefine its future rather than merely respond to change.
Unlike a conventional annual conference, the 2026 AGM is designed to provoke fresh thinking, encourage innovation, and inspire agencies, marketers, media professionals, creative practitioners, and business leaders to embrace new operating models capable of sustaining relevance in an increasingly technology-driven communications environment.
Describing the theme as a call to action, AAAN, in a social media announcement, challenged industry professionals to rethink established approaches and embrace new possibilities. “This isn’t just a theme. It’s a challenge to rethink, reimagine, and redefine what’s possible. The next chapter begins now. Welcome to ADvolution,” the association stated.
Consequently, the conference programme features conversations deliberately structured around the forces reshaping modern advertising. Leading the discussions are Tomiwa Aladekomo, Chief Executive Officer of Big Cabal Media, and Dr. Meksley Nwaboh, Chief Marketing Officer of Fidelity Bank, who will deliver keynote presentations exploring the intersection of media innovation, marketing strategy, technology, consumer engagement, and the future of brand communication.
Equally significant, the event will host a high-profile panel session bringing together Damola Richard Salvador, CEO and Lead Strategist at digiSplash; Tobiloba Beckly Williams, Creative Director at 7even Interactive Limited; Olusegun Akinyemiju, Marketing Manager at MSS Guinness; and Rotimi Ade-Onajobi, Creative Director at Spice 360.
Moderated by Creative Alchemist, Oyindamola Fakile, the discussion will examine how agencies and brands can successfully navigate rapid technological disruption, leverage artificial intelligence, respond to evolving consumer behaviour, and unlock new growth opportunities across the communications value chain.
