CMC Celebrates 25th Anniversary, Promotes Arts & Culture In Nigeria

CMC Connect, a leading perception management firm has given a boost to the nation’s arts and culture by promoting Gula, an inspiring stage play which premiered in Lagos on Saturday, 30th September 2017 in commemoration of its 25years in public relations and strategic communications business in Nigeria.

CMC partnered with the producers of Gula – Ashvault Limited and Declassical, to promote the nation’s arts and culture on it 25th anniversary. Speaking during the premiere held at Terra Kulture, the Group Managing Director, CMC Connect, Mr. Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, commended past and present staff including clients for their support in building the CMC brand. He said: “We thank our stakeholders for their contributions over the years and look forward with great excitement to the next 25.”

Gula is a captivating true-life account of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s encounter with Baba Ali – one of the most dreaded criminals in Northern Nigeria during his incarceration in Yola. The play captures an inspiring period in the history of Obasanjo, a personality that made huge impact on Nigeria.

The Executive Producer of Gula, Mr. Oduwole described the play as a story of courage, hope, taking responsibility and of second chances. He said “while in incarceration, Obasanjo’s life was hanging in the balance but rather than allow fear, depression, self-pity, or loneliness to engulf him, Obasanjo in a display of rare human strength, took responsibility to understand why the prison was full of young people.

Kids, families and notable individuals from the corporate sphere watched the stage play on Sunday, October 1st. It will also show on October 7th and 8th by 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm Terra Kulture, VI, Lagos.
