skyebank-logoFeelers emanating from integrated marketing communication industry show that Skye Bank may have parted ways with The Quadrant Company (TQC), the Troyka Group PR arm on the public relations consultancy business the agency won last year.

According to reliable sources, the account has moved to the Powerlight Communications, owned and run by it pioneer Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager, Kayode Akinyemi.

It was gathered that the bank had appointed Powerlight Communications in a letter dated March 1, 2016 co-signed by the Bank’s Head of Strategic Brand Management, Nduneche Ezurike and Head of Corporate Communications, Rasheed Bolarinwa.

It was learnt that the new PR firm is appointed to act as the bank’s public relations/media consultant effective March 1, 2016 for an unspecified tenure.

The appointment of Powerlight Communications may have brought TQC relationship with the bank to an end after what observers described as tortuous relationship. Skye Bank was reported to have sliced the agency responsibility few months into the account which saw TQC limited to print/electronic media.

The online arm was said to have been given to another unnamed media relationship firm.

Akinyemi who is said to be very excited over the appointment could not confirm the news to our reporter.

The CEO of Powerlight Communications said I am yet to be briefed but if my agency is appointed then that is positive development.

He however expressed his willingness to position the brand and take it to a greater height especially at this critical period in the banking industry if the news of his agency appointment is true.

“We will be happy with this appointment and make bold to say that we will position the Skye Bank brand positively and to a greater height especially at this peculiar time in the banking industry” Akinyemi said.
