The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has joined the nation in mourning the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
President Buhari served Nigeria with distinction, first as a military Head of State and later as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023. Throughout his leadership, he pursued policies aimed at fostering economic growth, improving national infrastructure, and advancing industrial development. His administration recognized the strategic role of the manufacturing sector in national development, job creation, and economic diversification.
Despite the economic challenges experienced during his tenure, former President Buhari remained engaged with the manufacturing community. He granted the Association several opportunities to present recommendations and collaborated on resolving some of the sector’s most pressing challenges.
In a statement, Otunba Francis Meshioye, OFR, President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, said: “We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, associates, and all Nigerians during this solemn time. Former President Buhari’s contributions to Nigeria’s development will not be forgotten.”
As the nation reflects on the life and legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari, MAN calls on all Nigerians to honour his memory by recommitting to the vision of a stronger, more self-reliant economy. The Association urges the government to review and build upon policies aimed at creating a more conducive environment for sustainable industrial growth and improved national wellbeing. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
